Day 7

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Oh, this is so hard! I love so many things, I'll read almost anything.

One safe bet for me is the Living as a Muggle trope. I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe it's the fun of seeing the confusion when Magical people has to deal with Muggle things? Although I love it when they're well settled in it also. Maybe it is the fact that there's a world I can relate to and things I can recognise that makes it so immersive to me. Two recs for this Trope:

Title: Left My Heart
Author: emmagrant01
Summary: Auror Draco Malfoy has disappeared, and Harry Potter has been sent to San Francisco to find him. (Post-Hogwarts, set in February, 2004. Written before Half-Blood Prince was released.)
Rating: NC-17
Why: Well, this is an absolute classic and you can't really omit it. It's so perfect and includes so many things of what I love with this trope.

Title: Twelve Hours
Author: anonymous
Summary: The last thing Harry expected to see while leaving the takeaway was Malfoy dumping his garbage into a bin on the kerb of a Muggle neighborhood.
Rating: NC-17
Why: Okay, so I'm a bit biased about this one since it was my gift at [livejournal.com profile] hd_erised, but it's fabulous and contains so many awesome things that I love about the trope. And also coffeshops

----

Another related trope that I love is when they live in the junction between the Muggle and Wizarding world. This can be so much fun when the writers explore the way the two worlds connect and work side by side, and many of the things from the livin as a Muggle trope goes for this also. Oh, and this rec contains another fabulous trope, friends with benefits. Which is awesome for so many reasons -- ALL the pining, UST, sex, misunderstandings. *sighs* So good.

Title: We Are Young (I'll Carry You Home Tonight)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic
Summary: Harry and Draco have been falling into bed on and off again since the last election five years ago, much to the amusement--and financial gain--of their circle of friends. But when Harry agrees to work with Draco to put Kingsley Shacklebolt into the Minister's office, they can't work side-by-side again every day and sleep together; that would be courting disaster. Wouldn't it?
Rating: NC-17
Why: Um, I always pull this one forward, but it's one of my absolute favourites. So much ust and pining and love and SUCH an awesome, thorough universe and amazing side characters.

Okay, I could probably go on forever because I love so many things, but these were the most obvious to me right now. I'll probably think of other obvious ones in half and hour and pull my hair in despair, but I had to choose something :)

Some other things:
I got a present yesterday!

Title: Forever and Always
Author: [livejournal.com profile] blithelybonny
