Yay, I'm glad!! And yes, there really is some astonishingly high quality fic in 1d fandom, so definitely recommend trying it out :) I didn't know anything when I first started reading either, and ended up googling them to see because I was curious. But, particularly for the AUs, that's not really necessary. I'm certain they'll read just as well without any prior knowledge. Hope you'll enjoy them if you decide to give it a go!!
No, I don't know that writer. Looked them up on ao3, and seems they only write Harry/Nick, which I've read some of but not much. Maybe I should give it a go if they've written good HP fic! Seems like a lot of the 1d blogs I follow on tumblr has started to embrace drarry lately, and that makes me happy <3
