Art: Gellert

Title: Gellert
Rating: G
Medium: Pencil
Content: A portrait of Gellert Grindelwald
Characters: Gellert Grindelwald
Disclaimer: The characters belong to J.K. Rowling. No copyright infringement is intended and no money is being made by this fan work.
Notes: Been a long time since I did anything for my portrait series, so I guess it was about time? A dark, evil wizard this time. Albeit in his youth; probably about the time he and Albus were bffs. So... Today I bought myself blending stubs, which I honestly didn't know what was until I saw a Tumblr artist mention it yesterday. I'm such a noob. So definitely a bit in the unknown here, and not quite comfortable with them yet. I used to blend with a tissue paper or just my finger (the latter which apparently is a big no no), so I guess it was about time I got some proper drawing equipment... Fun to try, and I think they'll be a good thing. Well, hope you'll like it!

Oh, wow, he looks smart, but there's something cruel about his mouth as if he's unscrupulous when it comes to using his intelligence. If he was a Muggle scientist, he'd be the type who wouldn't mind testing on animals, me thinks.
With his hairdo he seems to fit in the right era as well and it looks entirely plausible that a young Dumbledore would fall for this homme fatal. :)
Wonderful work!

Oh, you know, I always love reading your comments on my portraits, with your interpretations :D They warm my heart! For some reason I see him with shoulder length hair, not sure if that's described in the book or just something I got from the films? Anyway, so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much ♥

Heh, uhm, yeah, I'm really not any kind of an art critic, but I've got a master's in anthropology and I always try to read people as best as I can. And it's nice with your pictures because people don't look generic, but they always have a distinct expression. :) I hope I'm not too annoying with my blabbing, LOL, it's mostly my personal opinion - it's always a bit biased how we see things. :) But your art is wonderful and I'm always prompted to comment on it! :)
